North by Northeast (NXNE) is Canada’s most important discovery music festival, presenting thousands of essential emerging artists, often just before they break, from across Canada and around the world – since 1995.

From June 13-18, 2023, over 20 of Toronto’s best live music venues will again come alive with great new music.

Festival passes are on sale now — only $25 for five nights of music.

NXNE makes great music accessible and inclusive with its low cost $25 full festival pass (all nights, all venues, all bands) – and $15 single venue, one night admission.

New this year, musicians and live music fans are welcome at NX HQ, festival headquarters – a busy artist and festival hub – featuring performance, lounge, panels, parties, band merch and more.

Located at It’s OK – 468 Queen Street West – in the heart of Toronto’s live music district.

More details and ticket information is available at https://www.nxne.com/.

Toronto has one of the greatest live music scenes in the world and NXNE works with the city’s remarkable music venues to showcase top emerging Canadian and international acts throughout Festival Week. The Festival also features secret shows by top artists.

Discovery is at the core of NXNE and artists including: Billy Talent, The Arkells, Daniel Caesar, Feist, the Weeknd, Sam Roberts, Knaan, Lizzo, the Lumineers and thousands more all played intimate, NXNE gigs early in their careers.

Using a model developed through our partnership with SXSW, NXNE runs tightly produced shows that run on a strict schedule designed to encourage confidant club hopping, certain artists will appear when advertised.

Festival admission is through low-cost festival passes or single venue tickets. NXNE is committed to eliminating financial barriers for artists and doesn’t charge performers to apply and all bands are paid to play.

Detailed band bios and information on performers will begin to appear on this website and through our media partners, especially NEXT magazine and nextmag.ca, starting in April.
