Canadian rockers Default kick started day two of the Rock The Park Music Festival in London, Ontario on Thursday, July 13, 2023.

Front man Dallas Smith shared some insight about their early influences from the 90’s rock scene and recording their debut album ‘The Fallout’ in 2001.

“Pearl Jm ‘Ten’, you know that song ‘Black’, that piano on there that’s Rick Parashar so that’s him playing that, he produced this song and a couple others and the piano that you hear on the record is actually the same piano that’s in ‘Black’,” Smith told the crowd, before the band performed ‘Live A Lie’.

The band soared through their hits from the early 2000’s, closing their set with ‘Wasting My Time’ and ‘Deny’.

Here are some photos from their performance:

The Canadian rockers burst onto the music scene in the early 2000s with their infectious blend of alternative rock and post-grunge sound.

Formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1999, the core members of Default are Smith (lead vocals), Jeremy Hora (lead guitar), Dave Benedict (bass), and Danny Craig (drums).

The band has released four albums and has sold more than a million records.

SWOMP caught up with frontman Dallas Smith earlier this year for an interview, where he talks about his successful solo career in country music, along with still rocking with Default. Listen, below:
