Lehighton, Pennsylvania rockers Another Day Dawns are set to perform at the Louder Than Life Music Festival in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

They’ll be the first band to perform on the Space Zebra stage at the four-day event, with their time slot scheduled from 12:40 p.m. to 1:10 p.m.

SWOMP caught up Tyler Ritter, guitarist for Another Day Dawns, for a Q&A:

You’re set to hit the road with Atreyu, Memphis May Fire and Catch Your Breath for the “We Want Your Misery Tour”, how pumped is the band and what are you doing to prepare?

Tyler: “We’re very excited as we’ve had most of the summer to prepare, we actually had a headline show just a week ago and played about every song we have released so having prepared for that had us mostly ready for this luckily. We’re breaking out a couple new songs for this tour so focusing on them was what we spent time on most.”

I see some of the band’s influences are Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot… and you guys are on the same bill as these bands for the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville in September. Specifically, the same day as Avenged and Corey Taylor from Slipknot… this must be a huge moment for the band?

Tyler: “Oh it absolutely is, I personally have been waiting to play with Avenged Sevenfold as they’re my biggest bucket list band. The lineup all together is insane, there’s so many bands I’ll be checking out. I’m too nervous to wanna meet most of them though.”

Speaking of other Louder Than Life bands, Avatar is slated to play the day before you guys, and I understand providing support for them early in your career really helped you guys take off?

Tyler: “Yes they were one of the first big bands we got to play with, and we had the opportunity to open for them in New Hampshire. They were so nice and honestly some of the hardest working dudes in the business, they spent all day stretching, exercising, and practicing. And it absolutely shows in their performance, definitely a huge influence on us.”

I’ve mentioned some of the Louder Than Life bands already, but what are some other bands on the bill that you’re excited to see or who are some “can’t miss” bands that you recommend people make sure they see?

Tyler: “I’m definitely excited for Baby Metal as I’ve never gotten to see them, and Parkway Drive and Jesus Piece are my other definites. I’ll have to see if we can be there for the dates besides ours, because every day looks amazing.”

You guys dropped two singles ‘On Our Own’ and ‘Bitter” back in May… tell me a bit about these tunes, they’re real bangers!

Tyler: “These two are easy yet hard to talk about because they both came together super quickly. Bitter was a song that I originally didn’t think would work out for us, it’s original instrumental version was a lot heavier and I could even picture any melodies over it, but the guys in the band liked a lot of parts to it and after simplifying some things it came together pretty quickly and we all loved it. On our Own was one of the few we wrote with our friend Tom Hane, and that guy showed us a lot of great things about songwriting. He definitely helped blend in a lot of modern elements that we’ve never thought of putting in our music.”

Can we expect more music, EP? LP? to be released soon from the band?

Tyler: “Yes, we have our next single Hesitate dropping this Friday the 25th!! And we should have some more news to come with that release.”

Louder Than Life is the last show listed for you guys right now, when can we expect the next run of shows?

Tyler: “Nothing’s 100% as of right now, but as soon as things are confirmed and announced we post to social media!!”

As Tyler mentioned in our Q&A, some exciting news would be coming with the release of their new single, and he was right!

Another Day Dawns shared the video for new single “Hesitate” to announce that their new album Finding Peace Through All the Noise. It arrives October 6 via Century Media.

“‘Hesitate’ is about the internal struggle we all deal with about coming to terms with the reality of your life and your relationships, rather than following the little devil on your shoulder,” says front man Dakota Sean, in a media release.

“It’s about not taking the easy way out and taking control of your life.”

“Hesitate” is a not-so-subtle reminder why the Lehighton, PA based four-piece is one of the most buzzed about new rock bands hitting stages and winning over crowds at every stop. The track expands on ADD’s blueprint of driving hooks, unforgettable vocals, and tuneful dissonance. Produced by Steve Sopchak (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White) and mixed by Jeff Dunne (Brand of Sacrifice, Ice Nine Kills), it’s a hint of the shape of ADD’s rock-to-come.

Since inking with Century Media Records in 2022, ADD have found themselves in cramped rehearsal rooms, studios, and ultimately, on stages of every conceivable size.

“Having taken off so much time to get this album done, we thought we’d do some smaller shows to get things rolling again, but somehow we came back with our first arena tour and the biggest opportunity we’ve ever had as a band!”

Hitting the road for a North American jaunt with Breaking Benjamin and Bush, ADD won over crowds every night. “We definitely felt nerves and anxiety while we entered what felt like a new world to us,” says Ritter. “Pretty quickly that turned to ambition and drive.”

Another Day Dawns began making a racket of their own as high school-aged friends in 2010.

Countless electric and acoustic shows later, opening for the likes of Sevendust, Starset, and Atreyu as well as rock festivals including Aftershock, Blue Ridge and Louder Than Life, they’ve honed themselves into a force to be reckoned with in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. The independent release of their 2018 EP A Different Life landed the band a charting spot on the Billboard rock charts, which solidified their foundation in the active rock market. Meanwhile, 2020’s single release, “Taste of Heaven” has racked up over two million Spotify streams while 2021’s release “Look at You” has garnered nearly 200K YouTube plays.
