Corey Taylor brings the party to Louder Than Life 2023

Having headlined Louder Than Life in the past with his Slipknot and Stone Sour bandmates, Corey Taylor returned to Louisville with the same musical ferocity on Day #2 of the 2023 event.

“Welcome to the party, motherfuckers,” Taylor told the crowd, after tearing through his opening song ‘Post Traumatic Blues’, the second track on his brand new album CMF2, which was just released on September 16, 2023.

“Back to one of my favourites fuckin’ festivals,” he added.

Taylor also shared with the crowd that his band had just found out before the show their new single ‘Beyond’ was the number one rock song on the active charts.

He thanked his fans for their support, before tearing into the new track.

Throughout his set, Taylor covered several songs from his other bands, performing ‘Before I Forget’ and ‘Snuff’ by Slipknot, along with ‘Tumult’ ,‘Song #3’, ‘Absolute Zero’ and ‘Through Glass’ by Stone Sour.

Midway through his set, Taylor lightened things up a bit, by grabbing his acoustic guitar and performing a rendition of the SpongeBob Squarepants theme song.

“Fuckin’ assholes,” a smiling Taylor told the crowd, after performing the familiar cartoon classic.

“Alright, back to business,” he added, before jumping right into ‘Snuff’ with his full band, which consisted of Zach Throne on rhythm/lead guitars, Dustin Robert on drums, Christian Martucci on rhythm and lead guitars and Eliot Lorango on bass.

Taylor and his bandmates closed their set with a scathing cover of ‘Ace of Spades’ by Motörhead.
