Wrigleyville was buzzing with excitement on Thursday, August 29, 2023, in anticipation of Pearl Jam’s first of two shows in Chicago, Illinois.
Fans were enjoying beverages and picking up merch, while SWOMP captured some images around “the friendly confines” prior to the concert:
Visiting the home of the Chicago Cubs for the fourth time, and their sixth show overall, the Seattle rockers carried on their tradition of delivering epic performances in the old ballpark.
From the opening chords of the show opener ‘Release’, to the communal rendition of Neil Young’s ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’, the band was on top of their game throughout.
Wrigley’s ivy shook to the sounds of their new album ‘Dark Matter’ for the first time.
At one point in the set, vocalist Eddie Vedder even invited a fan on stage for the new song ‘Won’t Tell’, after she indicated on a sign in the front row that she could sing it.
