Good Things: Deluxe Edition, the highly anticipated double album from award-winning Canadian country artist Devin Cooper, came out on Friday, September 6, 2024.
SWOMP caught up with Cooper on release day for an interview. Listen, below:
The 22-track project features 11 produced and 11 live acoustic tracks, showcasing Cooper’s artistic evolution since his 2022 debut.
“I’m incredibly proud to finally release the Good Things: Deluxe Edition!” shared Cooper. “This album has been a true labour of love these past few years, and I’m looking forward to bringing the new music to life this Fall on tour.”
Produced by JUNO Award-winning partners Spencer Cheyne and Justin Kudding, Good Things: Deluxe Edition is a masterful showcase of Cooper’s distinctive country rock sound and authentic storytelling.
Featuring fan-favourite tracks, “Underdog,” “Good Things” and “She’s My Religion” the album is a celebration of Cooper’s life, sharing the pivotal moments that defined him and the heartfelt stories that capture his journey and growth.
In celebration of the release, Cooper dropped the live acoustic video for his brand new single “Leave It To Chance,” a bold anthemic track about seizing the moment and trusting your gut.
Written by Cooper, David Borys (Shantaia, Wes Mack) and Tom Whall (Cassadee Pope, Lily Rose), the single was inspired by a chance encounter at a California concert campground, and is a fearless reminder not to let life’s best moments slip away.

Southern-Rock influenced country may seem contradictory in the Great White North, but that’s where Devin Cooper hangs his wide-brimmed hat.
Kicking off 2024, Cooper secured five Country Music Alberta Nominations, and released his country-rock love anthem “She’s My Religion” which became the #1 played song on Sirius XM’s Top of the Country.
Cooper’s highly anticipated double album coming later in 2024. In 2023, Cooper was the most-nominated solo artist at the Country Music Alberta Awards, where he was named “Horizon Male Artist of The Year” and landed seven nominations, including, “Album of The Year” and “Fans’ Choice”.
Cooper’s signature sound is identifiable by his thoughtful songwriting and gritty rock ‘n roll vocals. Following this, Cooper received his first CCMA Nomination for “Creative Team of The Year” for his debut album Good Things.
Featuring down-home banjo and anthemic 1980s drum tones, Cooper blurs the line between country and rock ‘n roll and is a taste of what’s to come: Cooper does country music his way and doesn’t apologize for it. Cooper’s Good Things: Deluxe Edition is available everywhere now.
