Ajax, Ontario rockers Sum 41 played their final U.S. festival show at Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Thousands of fans flocked across the Highland Festival Grounds, immediately after The Offspring finished their Main Stage set, to catch the Canadian rockers performance on the Decibel Stage.
“You know what to do, let’s get this fuckin’ movin’,” vocalist Deryck Whibley told the Kentucky audience.
“Open this shit up. We came all this way. Show me what you’ve got.”
Earlier this year, the Grammy-nominated band announced their last headlining world tour, ‘Tour Of The Setting Sum’, to celebrate the release of their final album Heaven :x: Hell, which will culminate with their final show as a band in Toronto, Ontario, at Scotiabank Arena on January 30, 2025.
“From the bottom of our hearts, sincerely, when I say this this is going to be the most honest thing I say all fucking night, I speak on behalf of all of us on stage when I say thank-you, we love you, we appreciate you and God dammit, most importantly, we’re going to fucking miss you, ladies and gentlemen,” Whibley told the Louisville crowd.
“We’re going to miss you. Thank-you so much for being here right now with us. Thank-you for all the bullshit that you had to go through just to be here today, all the fuckin’ lineups, the traffic, the parking, all the money you have to spend, the plans you have to make, all the fuckin’ bullshit that sucks about being at a concert. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for doing it all tonight, right now.”
Whibley touched on the Louder Than Life being their last appearance at the United States festival.
“Get these lights up, make it bright, I want to see them… there you are,” the frontman said.
“The whole fuckin’ family. This is our last U.S. festival that we’re ever going to play. So thank-you for being here right now. We’re doing our best in a short amount of time to play as many fucking songs from our career as we can for you.”
Complete with captivating pyrotechnics production, the band tore through a 10-song set in their allotted 50-minutes.
Here is the full setlist:
