Fresh off his appearance at the Sommo Festival in Cavendish, PEI, Andre Pettipas is busy working on a solo album called ‘Drejavu’.
‘Vampire State Of Mind’, the first release from the forthcoming album, is a piece that blends multiple influences into a three minute pun fuelled, spooky number. Imagine combining The Cars with 90s era Red Hot Chili Peppers and tossing them into a 2000s pop/rock track with a groove that will make you excited like the first time you’ve watched cult classic movie, “Ernest Scared Stupid” or heard Tom Petty’s, “Zombie Zoo.”
SWOMP caught up with Pettipas for an interview to discuss the track and the album. Listen, below:
Pettipas says “Drejavu” is a collection of songs about reflection, rebuilding, refocusing and reiterating your purpose in the world through musical conglomerate.
“This album will feature collaborations from artists that I’ve worked with over the span of my career and will hit multiple genres and themes stemming from personal experiences throughout my life,” he said.
“It’s taking those songs you have stored on your hard drive that may not fit a certain mold we put on ourselves and reworking them with a fresh outlook to build a production that the songs deserve.”
