Incubus deliver celebratory performance at Budweiser Stage in Toronto

It was a birthday celebration of sorts at Budweiser Stage as California rockers Incubus brought their Morning View tour to Toronto on Monday, June 30, 2025.

“Hey, how you doing?” frontman Brandon Boyd asked the crowd, who had braved a torrential downpour as doors opened, delaying the start of the show.

“Happy birthday,” he added, offering a friendly nod to Canada Day, just hours away.

Following the format of the rest of the tour, Incubus performed their Morning View album in full. The band re-recorded the 2001 release last year and has been touring in support of it since.

In Toronto, the night took on added significance as bassist Nicole Row celebrated her birthday. Before launching into a stripped-down version of “Blood on the Ground,” Boyd and guitarist Mike Einziger joined Row at the top of the stage for a playful rendition of “Happy Birthday.” A message flashed behind them on the big screen: Happy Birthday Nicole!

Leading up to the performance, SWOMP caught up with Row for an interview. The former Panic! At The Disco bassist talked about joining Incubus, the new music on the horizon, and what birthday antics she anticipated on tour.

During “Mexico,” the seventh track on Morning View, Boyd altered the final chorus lyrics to “on the first train to Toronto,” prompting a roar of approval from the crowd.

After playing the album in full, the band launched into a greatest-hits encore, delivering polished renditions of “Megalomaniac,” “Anna Molly,” “The Warmth,” “Vitamin,” “Stellar,” “Pardon Me,” and show-closer “Drive.”

Due to the rain delay, Paris Jackson’s set was shortened to 15 minutes, though it featured a surprise appearance by Einziger on one track.
