AURORA captivates Corona Capital with luminous set

Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA brought her ethereal sound to the main stage on the second day of the 2025 Corona Capital Music Festival in Mexico City on Saturday, Nov. 15.

A video image of her face appeared on the screens moments before she walked out, bathed in blue light that made it seem as though she was emerging from underwater. The effect drew cheers from the packed crowd as she stepped into view.
AURORA told fans the Mexico City performance would be her last for some time.

“Thank you so much for being here,” she said. “First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart and my butt that you are all here for us and for me. It really means the world to me. I don’t know if you know, but this concert with you is the last concert I will do in a very long time. But it’s with you, mis amigas. So it means a lot to me. Thank you. Thank you so much.”

She also recalled performing at Corona Capital in the past, when a fan gifted her a doll she still keeps at home.

“I love him so much. I have him in my home in Norway. We make love all the time. He’s absolutely beautiful and disgusting and he is perfect,” she said, laughing. Moments later, a fan handed her another doll on stage.

Aurora Aksnes’ shimmering vocals and fusion of electronic pop and folk have earned her an international following since the release of her debut EP Running with the Wolves in 2015 and her 2016 album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend.

Her music is known for its emotional intensity and poetic exploration of nature, love and the human experience.

Renowned for her immersive live performances, AURORA blends movement, storytelling and raw expression.

She is also a vocal advocate for environmental and social issues, often speaking publicly about climate change, mental health and equality.

With later releases such as A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) and The Gods We Can Touch, she continues to expand her artistic range and solidify her reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music.
