Marilyn Manson tapped into his early-era catalogue at Sick New World, delivering a set built on familiar screams, heavy theatrics and songs that helped define his rise in the 1990s.
Performing at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, Manson leaned heavily on Antichrist Superstar-era material, including “Angel With the Scabbed Wings,” drawing a strong reaction from longtime fans.
“Las Vegas, let’s take you back to 1996,” he told the crowd before launching into “Tourniquet.”
The set balanced nostalgia with spectacle. “The Dope Show” stood out as a highlight, with Manson taking the stage in a blue feathered jacket.
“Time for your medicine,” he said ahead of the track.
He closed the performance with “The Beautiful People,” asking the crowd, “Sick New World, you want one more song?” before launching into the song’s recognizable opening.
Manson’s appearance at the festival comes ahead of a co-headlining North American tour with Rob Zombie later this summer. The 21-date run begins Aug. 20 in West Palm Beach, Fla., and includes stops in major markets across the United States and Canada.
Canadian and nearby dates include a Sept. 1 stop in Toronto and a Sept. 4 show at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich. The tour will also feature The Hu and Orgy as supporting acts.
A longtime figure in rock and metal, Manson has released multiple Top 10 albums and remains known for his provocative image and influence on alternative culture.
