Green Day | ALTer EGO 2026

Confetti rained from the rafters of The Kia Forum as Green Day closed ALTer EGO 2026 with the final notes of Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), sending the Los Angeles crowd home on a celebratory high.

The Oakland punk rockers delivered a stadium-sized set packed with era-spanning hits, all of which have dominated iHeart’s alternative rock airwaves over their Hall of Fame career.

“Make sure you love one another, protect each other,” Billie Joe Armstrong told the crowd, weaving in moments of personal and political reflection.

As is tradition for Green Day, the band invited a fan onstage to join them. A young girl wearing a t-shirt reading “Who The Fuck is Tre Cool?” took the microphone to belt out a few lines of Know Your Enemy, earning cheers from the crowd.

Armstrong’s commentary threaded through the set, including pointed adjustments to American Idiot. “I’m not a part of a MAGA agenda,” he sang, later reinforcing the message during Holiday. “This song is anti-fascism. This song is anti-war. We stand up for our brothers and sisters in Minnesota,” he said, calling out White House advisor Stephen Miller by name.

The band’s introduction carried its own surprise: No Doubt’s Tony Kanal and Adrian Young welcomed Green Day to the stage, a nod to the shared punk-rock lineage.
