Father and son rock duo Randy Bachman and Tal Bachman performed an intimate and interactive concert at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chatham on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

The setlist included a selection of Randy Bachman classics, including “No Sugar Tonight”, “American Woman”, “Taking Care of Business”, “These Eyes”, “Laughing”, “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”, along with Tal Bachman’s hit single from 1999 “She’s So High”.

The Bachman’s also performed a number of cover songs, including “Honkey Tonk Woman” by The Rolling Stones, a show closing rendition of “Hey Jude” by The Beatles and a stripped down rock version of Selena Gomez’ hit “Love You Like a Love Song”, which featured a tag of “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor.

Inspired by a pandemic-driven weekly show, which saw the pair performing at home on Friday nights and uploading the shows to YouTube, the Bachman’s took some requests from the Capitol Theatre audience on Thursday.

One of the requests included “Cinnamon Girl” by Randy Bachman’s lifelong friend, Neil Young.

“Please don’t send that to Neil,” a smiling Randy Bachman told the crowd, after the Bachman’s pieced together a shortened version of the 1969 hit.

The Bachman’s also sprinkled in a series of stories throughout the evening, including more details about Randy’s lost and found Gretsch guitar.

This particular story will be the focus for an upcoming documentary and the Bachman’s are set to release a new album called Shadows of Yesterday, which will serve as the soundtrack for the film.

In a recent interview with SWOMP, the Bachman’s shared some other stories as well. Listen to it, below:

Bachman & Bachman are staying on road in Ontario for the rest of the month, with stops in Brampton, Richmond Hill, Oakville, St. Catharines and Kingston.
