The Capitol Theatre has announed a trio of separate concerts coming to their 238 King Street West stage in the coming months.

It will be a homecoming for Chatham-Kent native Michelle Wright on Saturday, October 14, 2023, as ‘The Great Canadian Road Trip’ featuring, Doc Walker, Jason McCoy and Wright is coming to the Capitol

Prepare for an unforgettable experience as three legendary Canadian performers take the stage together for an exceptional evening of country music, Capitol officials say.

The Great Canadian Roadtrip tour’s epic lineup includes award-winning country duo Doc Walker, two-time CCMA Male Vocalist of the Year award-winning Jason McCoy, and one of Canada’s most recognized and awarded female country singers, Michelle Wright.

“I’m so excited to be touring across Canada with Doc Walker and Jason McCoy,” says Michelle Wright.

“It’s going to be a wonderful night of music, and I can’t wait to share the stage with my friends and bring this show to fans across the country!”

“So you’re saying we get to go on a cross-Canadian roadtrip with two absolutely legendary artists that we are massive fans of?! Please refrain from pinching us until it’s over,” says Dave Wasyliw of Doc Walker.

“This tour will be a non-stop hit after hit each night. I love Canada, I love country music, and I love touring with my friends, but most of all, I love the fans who are going to make this an epic Canadian Roadtrip!” says Jason McCoy.

2024 will see some rock music hit the Capitol stage, as Canadian rockets Big Sugar are playing in Chatham-Kent on Thursday, March 14, 2023.

Led by vocalist Gordie Johnson and his signature double-neck Gibson guitar, the leaner, cleaner, present-day Big Sugar still rocks the house.

The legendary Canadian band is celebrating their ground-breaking Five Hundred Pounds deluxe vinyl release, which spans their storied career from their Hugo Boss suit days to their more recent Roots/Rock/Reggae vibes.

Gordie’s power trio breathe life into their early blues and jazz tinged songbook that has influenced generations of guitarists including Jack White, The Black Crowes, Gov’t Mule and ZZ Top.

Big Sugar is sure to get the Capitol audience on their feet and wailing on the air guitar – or, in Gordie’s words: “The theatre setting gives us the opportunity to explore a much wider range of styles; but it is still a Big Sugar rock and roll show!”

Tickets are $40 to $60 + handling fees, on-line handling fees applies.
