Founded in Toronto in 1996, Canadian hard rock trio Danko Jones has a blues-based hard rock style reminiscent of Thin Lizzy and AC/DC.
The band, led by namesake Danko Jones on vocals and guitar, is particularly popular in Western Europe.
Danko Jones’ European connection began with the release of the compilation I’m Alive and on Fire by Swedish label Bad Taste Records, which went on to release their subsequent albums, including Born a Lion (2002), We Sweat Blood (2003), Sleep Is the Enemy (2006), and Never Too Loud (2008), their most commercially successful album to date.
Their fifth full-length album, Below the Belt, arrived in 2010, followed by Rock and Roll Is Black and Blue in 2012.
The Garth Richardson-produced A Rock Supreme appeared in 2019, and Power Trio was released in 2021.
After international touring, Danko Jones returned to the studio, releasing Electric Sounds in September 2023.
