OK Go blend humor and connection at Innings Festival 2026

OK Go frontman Damian Kulash had a memorable answer when a fan asked about his favorite kind of potato during a cheeky Q&A at the Innings Festival.

“What’s my favorite kind of potato?” Kulash clarified.

“Fried” and “not yet rotten” was his response, adding “why can’t they start making french fries that are good for us?”

Outside of the entertaining banter, OK Go delivered a tight musical performance, featuring songs from across their catalog, including tunes from their new album – and fifth record overall – And The Adjacent Possible.

The album, their first in over 10 years, was also nominated for two Grammy Awards, including best music video and best recording package.

Already known for their innovative approaches to music videos throughout their career, Kulash went into further detail after their set during a live interview at Innings with former Major League Baseball pitcher – and Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer – Ryan Dempster, who was hosting his “Off The Mound” show at the festival all weekend.

“The same instinct we had had as musicians to try to touch somebody by making something that makes you feel more connected, it didn’t work digitally,” Kulash told Dempster.

“You can make a recording and somebody can put it on their headphones and feel touched by it, but it doesn’t have the same thing that being at this festival does. Being in an audience with a bunch of people and sharing that experience is just so different than it is to watch somebody play an acoustic guitar on YouTube.”

Kulash added: “So putting your music in that digital space just didn’t do the thing, it didn’t connect. Whereas making something that was specific to that space, but had that sense of curiosity and wonder and kind of human connection, that did make sense. Even though it wasn’t about harmony and rhythm, the same way music is. So, I think we sort of stumbled into it because we were just trying to figure out how you make music in this space.”
